ButtondownvsAudienceful

Audienceful is a great tool, but it's expensive and doesn't allow as much customization as Buttondown.

Buttondown just made sending a newsletter easier all around, from formatting text to looking at analytics to see what worked and what didn't.

Audienceful's strongest asset is its deep integration with Webflow, which makes it an easy choice for authors and businesses already familiar with the Webflow ecosystem. However, there are a couple downsides:

  • Audienceful's drip sequences don't allow much customization beyond timing and tagging. If you need to do anything more than that (such as send certain subscribers to a different list, or send a different email to a specific group of subscribers), you'll need to use a tool that's more customizable like Buttondown.
  • As you see below, Audienceful is expensive, especially for smaller lists. (This, combined with Webflow's recent pricing increase, can be rough for your business.)
