Gift subscriptions directly from your subscribe page

Hey folks! We've got something exciting for those of you offering paid subscriptions: your subscribers can now purchase subscriptions as gifts for others directly from your subscribe page.

Here's how it works: when someone visits your subscribe page, they'll see a checkbox labeled "This is a gift" next to the email address field. Once checked, a few extra fields appear — the purchaser enters their own email for billing purposes, the recipient's email address, and an optional gift message. After payment goes through, the subscription is created for the recipient (not the purchaser), and they get a nice notification email letting them know about their gift.

This opens up all sorts of possibilities. Your subscribers can gift subscriptions to friends or family for birthdays or holidays. Companies can purchase subscriptions for team members or clients. And readers who love your work can support you by buying subscriptions for others who might enjoy it too.

In your dashboard, these gift subscriptions look exactly like regular premium subscriptions — you'll see the recipient as a premium subscriber with full access to your paid content. The only difference is that the subscription metadata includes information about who purchased it as a gift, which you can view in the subscriber's details.
