That's right, even more filtering options

July 15, 2025

I know, I know. You're sick of all of these filtering options. It was not part of a plan to barrage the changelog with these, so much as a happy and repetitive accident. And I'm at least granting you the small mercy of combining these two in a single entry, that you can scroll past if you are bored.

Sometimes you want to bulk tag or perhaps even remove entirely subscribers that Buttondown has flagged as risky. Now you can!

We've allowed filtering subscribers by paid subscription for a while, but there's a tricky nuance. Let's take some examples:

  1. Jenna signs up for your $5/month plan, and then churns after one month.
  2. Grizz signs up for your $5/month plan, and then upgrades to your $50/year plan a few months later.
  3. Dotcom signs up for your $5/month plan, and has faithfully paid every month since.

It's always been possible to send an email to the Jennas of the world (filter by price and status), but differentiating between the Grizzes and the Dotcoms has been a bit more difficult, since both of them technically once had a $5/month plan.

Now, you can filter by current price, and that will only show people who are actively paying $5/month.

(Boy, that's a lot of nuance. Can you tell why I've punted on this logic for so long, in the vain hope that a cleaner solution would come along?)
