Tell us a bit about yourself and your background.

I'm a writer and musician from New York. I was born in 1967 and have been living in NYC my entire life (except for periods when I lived in Providence and Los Angeles). I've been playing shows and publishing pieces since the eighties.

What do you write about in your newsletter?

The newsletter revolves around music, writing, and concerns that some would describe as "political."

The platform is simple, straightforward, and I love Justin Duke, the founder.

Where did you first learn of Buttondown, and what made you decide to give it a try?

When Substack began nuzzling up to Nazis, Steve Albini wrote to me and said, "Get off that platform." I think he mentioned Buttondown in the context of Talia Lavin's newsletter.

What are some ways Buttondown has helped you run your email?

It's not run by zionists, nazis, or spiritual wastemen. The platform is simple, straightforward, and I love Justin Duke, the founder. Justin or someone from the support team answers quickly when things go goofy.

Buttondown is the last email platform you’ll switch to.
