Kenny Meyers is a software engineer & business owner who runs Sweet, a software company for comic folk. We chatted with Kenny to learn about how he uses Buttondown to market his work.
My name is Kenny Meyers. I’m a software engineer and a business owner. I started in the agency world doing front-end work and moved to large companies like Meta, Reddit & Adobe. I co-founded a comic book store called Omnibus. I currently run a company called Sweet, which is building software for comic folk. Our first product, Bindings, is in beta.
In the Sweet newsletter, I give product updates and announcements as well as trying to support members of the comic community with some love.
I learned of Buttondown many years ago, I think on Daring Fireball? I appreciated its minimalist approach and accessibility. It felt lightweight but checked a lot of feature boxes.
By being so easy to use, Buttondown makes marketing so easy. I’m so glad I don’t have to fuss with storing images for the newsletter or be too fussy about design. Buttondown handles that elegantly so I feel very, very comfortable sending emails frequently. Newsletters are one of the best, if not the best way to sell to folks.
Buttondown was the perfect product for me from first sign up. Things have only improved in ways that delighted and surprised me.
Buttondown has the best support in the business.
