Buttondown is already a pretty affordable product, and we want to earn your trust and money as a customer not through artificial scarcity or time-bomb sales but by making a high-quality product that is a good deal every month of the year.

There's, of course, nothing wrong with BFCM deals, but if you're pulling the trigger on something that's "50% off" — make sure that the price hasn't been slowly ramped up over the past three months to make the "discount" look more attractive.
