The People's Town Hall is just over a week away, and we're excited to bring together candidates, community organizations, local media, and residents for an afternoon of conversation and civic engagement at Spokane Central Library.

Hosted by Spokane People's Calendar in partnership with Spokane Public Library, KYRS Community Radio, and other local organizations, the Town Hall will feature 17 congressional and state legislative candidates discussing the issues affecting our community ahead of the August primary.

Hello everyone,

This Saturday, Spokane People's Calendar, Fix Democracy First - Spokane, FairVote Washington - Spokane, Spokane for Whole Washington, and friends will be marching together in the Spokane Pride Parade.

We're inviting anyone who would like to join us in celebrating Pride while helping raise awareness about efforts to build grassroots power and support systemic change in Washington through Universal Healthcare, Ranked Choice Voting, and Getting Money Out of Politics.

If you'd like to march with us, please meet us between 10:45 AM and 11:15 AM at the corner of Normandie and Boone.

We’ve got a busy month ahead with Pride events, coalition organizing, electoral events, community outreach, and opportunities for new people to get involved.

A lot of this work is connected - building stronger relationships, stronger coalitions, and stronger grassroots infrastructure here in Spokane.

Our monthly meetings are the best place to hear about the broader vision behind these projects, ask questions, meet other organizers, and find ways to plug in based on your interests, skills, and availability.

If you signed up at No Kings, Black Earth Day, or another recent event - welcome, and thanks for being here.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been out in the community connecting with people and starting to build something real. We hosted our first monthly meeting, talked with a lot of folks at No Kings, and saw a ton of interest in the community calendar at Black Earth Day. There’s a real sense of excitement - and hope - around the ballot initiative work we’re starting.

Now we’re building on that momentum.
