Once in a Blue Moon ...
Fox Kits and a Winning Raffle Ticket
Dear reader,
I hope the clouds part for you to glimpse the second full moonrise of the month tonight! Luck is certainly with me today as I WON OUR LIFELONG BOAT CLUB’S SPRING RAFFLE at opening day brunch 😁 (Which feels all the more wild as we named our childhood fishing vessel Blue Moon 💙)
Despite this rather chilly spring, my beloved daffodils made way for bearded irises everywhere, the sun sets past eight o’clock, nights in the 50s feel balmy, and rhododendrons are in full bloom. This abundantly beautiful time of year when the foliage comes back alive reminds me of the Empress, tarot’s nurturing matriarch who sits on the throne of creation and influences nature’s cyclical rhythms.

May’s highlight for me has been a red fox family (five adorable kits and both parents!) that took up residence beneath my mom’s deck 🦊 They’d trot out at twilight, tails whipping playfully, knocking over planters, pouncing at thin air, playing hide and seek behind tree trunks, running through the rhubarb bed, rough housing by their dad. Mischievous little trickster spirits in training!

Outdoor market season has officially begun! On a gorgeous town green sloping down to Plymouth Harbor in mid-May, it was such a joy to breathe in the sea air and see so many doggie tails wagging (though a bit of a trial run as I forgot sunscreen)! Come join me at any of the events below this June. And bring a friend! I’m debuting a joint market offering to read for pairs (couples, friends, siblings, mother-daughters …)
Since my body doesn’t tolerate heat very well, I’m limiting my public outdoor events during the summer. But it’s such a fun season for home parties and weddings! I’m dreaming of ladies’ brunches, bachelorettes, beach bonfires, garden parties, cocktail hours, family reunions, birthdays, college send-offs … Whether organizing casual gatherings or hosting a milestone, tarot is such a unique form of entertainment to surprise your guests 🃏
I am available most weekdays, nights, and weekends in July and August. Hit reply to design your custom event! I live for these summer celebrations 🥳
Cheers, Haley Smith Kingsland
P.S. My mom and I grow seedlings through our sister business Rivermoor Grown. This year we have plenty of shishito (my favorite!) and Hungarian hot wax peppers to share, as well as tomatillos and sun gold (the best!) cherry tomatoes. Available for pickup at any of the below events or free delivery around the South Shore. Let me know what you’d like for your kitchen garden! 🪴
