Dear reader,

Happy summer solstice! These glorious past few weeks have felt like such a bonus prelude. I’ve savored every start of this idyllic New England June: first sail, first striper, first lobster roll, first pool swim under the stars, first dinner on the porch, first Cape weekend, first Padanaram visit, first veggies on the grill, first long swim in the ocean … and I wish I could bottle up the scent of peonies and honeysuckle!

Today the sun stands still 🌞 And it’s moved into the constellation Cancer the crab, whose tarot correspondence is the Chariot 🦀

Yet the long days approaching the summer solstice always feel strange and uncanny, because their intensity is seared in my psyche caring for my father before he died.

This timing felt fitting for my dad. A visionary totally in tune with his destiny, he’d built his own chariot: a mythic sailing vessel of epic devotion to the call within that became real through sheer grit and determination. His light was so, so, so bright.

I think this is the Chariot’s invitation to us all. If we are attuned to input from our surroundings— signs and symbols, ineffable felt senses, coincidences, dreams, internal inklings, animal encounters, deep feelings— so many nudges from the unseen striving to get in touch with us— soon enough our soul’s essence (re)emerges, craving movement, expression. And we keep our chariots steady through continuous reception and connection with this dimension. Harnessing it all together moment by moment is what life is all about. Direct revelation leads to translation of our soul’s code.

The summer solstice is a significant portal, if we let it be, if we’re open to its magic. Pause for a bit today soaking up its glory. Lean in and pay heed to what you hear.
