Woman Made Gallery (WMG) invites women and nonbinary artists to submit work for “Unraveled”, an exhibition exploring contemporary fiber + textile based practices.

Please don’t ask me for any further details about this show because I don’t know them! I just ran across this and wanted to spread the word.

Get Your Potholders Right Here!

I am still accepting potholder orders for December delivery. If you want more than four pairs, the timeline may be different, so let’s talk.

New Product: Leader & Ender Bag Tags

Four photos of small fabric scraps attached to oversize safety pins.

“Leaders and enders” are little scraps of fabric that I scoot under my sewing machine needle at the end of every seam. They help keep the threads from getting tangled. And I have a huge collection of them.

I’m turning them into this season’s hottest accessory! You can wear them as chunky jewelry, use them as a pin for your shawl, or decorate your favorite bag. Grab yours at DNA Galleries in Oklahoma City’s Plaza District. I’ll be adding them to my website soon.

The Progress Bar

A new feature for The Fold to show you what projects I’m working on.

A new series of quilts is emerging (simmering?) that I’m calling the Soup Pot series. The name comes from the legend of the world’s greatest soup vendor. His soup is the best because he never cleans out the pot. Every soup has a smidge of the soup that came before.

My method: Gather harmonious fabrics, pair them up (usually a solid plus a print), make strip sets, assemble the sets into compositions. Use the leftovers to start the next quilt.

I’m making them all 40 x 40 inches so that I can eventually donate them to the Welcome Blanket project. https://www.welcomeblanket.org/

More updates on these to come.

Lately I’m Enjoying…

Watching: Andor (2022-2025, various, Disney+). Better than a Star Wars property has any right to be. I finally had the courage to watch the last episode. All the feels.

Watching: The Room Next Door (2024, dir. Pedro Almodovar, streaming on Hulu). A gorgeous meditation on platonic intimacy with Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton. I did not find it depressing at all. This is a movie about death, so exercise your own best judgement.

Reading: Miss Wolcott’s Ghost (2026, by Louise Penny). A new installment in the Three Pines murder mystery series that immediately became one of my favorites. Read this especially if you’re a plant nerd.

Listening: Machinarium video game soundtrack (2009, Thomas Dvorak / Floex). This is a desert island album for me. Listening again because I’m all asquee over the release of Machinarium 2!

Obsessed with: This wallpaper from the restroom in Tiny Bubbles Wine Bar.

Photo of wallpaper featuring broad brushstrokes in black.

Do these dancing skeletons ever get old? No, they do not.

Until next time,
