August happenings in NC live art
Happy summer! Here's the August meetups and more...
This Month's Outdoor Meetups
Some of the meetups are still switched around this month. I moved Durham Plein Air/USK to because I'll be busy with Lazy Daze during our regular Saturday. :)
- Saturday, August 8 (morning): NC Museum of Art Park (Raleigh) with Raleigh Outdoor Painting Group
- Saturday, August 8 (afternoon): Urban Sketching at CAM Raleigh with Scott Renk's CAM Raleigh USK group
- Saturday, August 22: Historic Oak View County Park (Raleigh) with Raleigh Outdoor Painting Group
- Saturday, August 29: Hollow Rock Nature Park (Durham/Orange) with Durham Plein Air/Urban Sketching
The Mebane Urban Sketchers haven't announced their August event yet, so stay tuned on their Instagram.
As always, several figure drawing and general art meetups are occurring every month in the same place - you can find links to those on ncartmeets.com.

Annual Events coming up
The Blowing Rock Plein Air Festival is coming up in August. This year they had to switch to juried/lottery though due to popularity so I don't think you can register anymore.
New/changed meetups
No known changes this month. Keep me updated if you notice any needed changes on the website!
I'm meeting with the Duke Gardens people to see if I can get a regular weekday meetup there, so stay tuned!
Other announcements
- I have openings for Expressive Figures in Mixed Media this Friday! There's also still some space in Perspective Fundamentals on October 2. Register with Durham Arts Council
