Hello everyone,
Dorit here with the newsletter from Loaf.
Let’s start with a little quiz - what can you make out of the following ingredients:
92,000g sugar
100g salt
46kg suet
6l stout
plus loads of apples, lemons, peel, currants, sultanas, cranberries and an uncountable amount of flour and butter (opt. vegan butter!)???
More on this next week! ☺️

🧀 🍷Loaf stall at Grace & James on Sunday 🥖
Loaf will be popping up once again at Grace & James in Kings Heath on Sunday 25th October from 10.30-3pm in 23 York Road. Grace & James is a gorgeous neighbourhood wine bar, deli and cheesemonger. Exactly those things which go well with bread! If you fancy a coffee you can find Alasdair running his coffee bar Flock tucked away in another corner of the same building.
As usual we will be selling sourdoughs, sweet and savoury treats, so come and say hi then!

We won in the category Bakery of the Year. Birmingham! Whoop! Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote for us in the my local awards a few weeks ago to give us this little recognition by our community!

The SCD folks sent on Saturday an update to the subscribers of their newsletter, which I would simply like to share with you. So please click on the link and read.
It includes an update to the scheme in general, but also what is going on regarding our leases and a call to action to help the people, who can hopefully finally move into the flats above our commercial units very soon.
In short from Loaf: We are still chasing and negotiating.
If you haven’t done yet you can subscribe to SCD’s newsletter here.
Thank you for your continued support.

Coffee & Tea Morning Talk at Stirchley Library
Stirchley Library is hosting a talk about ‘Nature at Highbury Park’ with coffee and tea on next Tuesday, 27th October from 11am - 12pm. Alf Dimmock, who is a former park ranger and will be talking about different nature improvements, including works being done to support and improve one of the many wonderful green spaces in Birmingham - Highburry Park. The event is free and needs no booking in advance. Just go along, have a hot or cold drink, maybe a biscuit as well and learn more about the city you live in!
Stirchley Library, Bournville Lane, Birmingham, B30 2JT

Pre-order Info
➡️ Click HERE to pre-order bread and buns for Wednesday till Saturday. If you don’t want to pre-order that’s alright, we always have more to sell, but we try not to let anything go to waste, so pre-orders are very helpful.
At the moment we can offer every day for pre-orders: Large White Sourdough, Focaccia, Cobs, Cardamom Buns and Cinnamon Buns. Our bakers will always try to make other loaf varieties and buns as well, but need to decide every week or even in the morning what is possible with the limited time and space we have at the moment.
➡️ Cut-off time for all pre-orders is 11am on the day before pick up!
Thanks so much to STEAMHOUSE for their continued support in letting us use a corner of their bakery in Redditch - we honestly do not know what we would have done without their generosity. 💛 💛 💛

Thanks for all the continued support & see you soon!
