Loaf pop-up in the summer next to The Shed

📢📢Loaf pop up in Cotteridge Park this Sunday 📢📢

We will be popping up once again next to The Shed in Cotteridge Park and we will bring bread and buns!

Many of you will already know The Shed as one of the many community gems in Birmingham which is staffed mainly by volunteers. The people from Cotteridge Park and Loaf have a longstanding relationship and they accepted our request for another pop up in their beautiful park - probably the last one for this year looking at the calendar and temperatures.

The Shed will be open as usual (from 10ish) and we will be popping up next to it from 12 pm until we sell out - come, say hi and enjoy your cinnamon bun from Loaf with a hot drink from The Shed on your Sunday walk.

Friends of Cotteridge Park run many different regular activities and additional events throughout the year. All events they run are for free and donations are very welcome to keep them going! So have a look at their website!

Also if you are thinking about volunteering - they always look for more support working at the cafe or doing other jobs in the park! It’s actually were I started my ‘career’ in Birmingham after I moved to UK and it’s been time well spend.

Loaf pop up stall on Sunday 1st November from 12pm until we sell out (3pm-ish) next to The Shed in Cotteridge Park!

Two Events to support Stirchley Co-operative Development

There will be two events taking place in the next two months who asked SCD and Loaf if we would like to join forces to get some more publicity around our struggles and also get some more financial support in for all of us!

Award-winning porridge on Sunday Sun Nov 29 from 12pm-4.30

The first one will be in Kings Heath Community Centre on Sunday 29th November and it will involve a feast of award-winning, pay-as-you-can plant based porridge, with all proceeds going to Stirchley SCD, and there might even be a pop up from Loaf!

Adam and James who run Forridge and are the people behind this event are talking in this YouTube video about the perfect porridge (It’s fun! I promise). For those who are not too bothered about porridge please be told there will be more, but what exactly is still a secret. More announcements around that to follow! But it will be Forridge’s biggest and best event yet!

Event number two takes place in Castle & Falcon on 17th December 2026 and is the Festive Fundraiser for MAP run by the Super Sonic Festival! The event itself will be to fundraise for Medical Aid for Palestinians, but they sent us an email and asked if Loaf would like to run a little festive bake stall to raise awareness for SCD and Loaf - and we said yes! There will be music by the Georgian choir Ensemble Bednieri, by the Supersonic House Band who will perform a full set of covers and by Kikimora DJs! Artefact will also be represented by Hipkiss & Graney who are doing a MASSIV pass the parcel. Sounds like fun to you? Then get your calendar out or better save yourself a ticket for this one. It will be an fun for sure!

More teasing…

Last week I asked what we might do with those huge amounts of sugar, salt, suet, stout, apples, lemons, peel, currants, sultanas, cranberries and (opt. vegan!) butter… this week I follow up with a few teaser pictures…

The stout we will be using is ten acres.
Where do we get the Stout from this year? It’s an easy one.
Loooads of apples and lemons!
Rach subsumed by the citrus! She got out though. And had help!

Next week you shall see more!

Pre-order Info

➡️ Click HERE to pre-order bread and buns for Wednesday till Saturday. If you don’t want to pre-order that’s alright, we always have more to sell, but we try not to let anything go to waste, so pre-orders are very helpful.

At the moment we can offer every day for pre-orders: Large White Sourdough, Focaccia, Cobs, Cardamom Buns and Cinnamon Buns. Our bakers will always try to make other loaf varieties and buns as well, but need to decide every week or even in the morning what is possible with the limited time and space we have at the moment.

➡️ Cut-off time for all pre-orders is 11am on the day before pick up!

Thanks so much to STEAMHOUSE for their continued support in letting us use a corner of their bakery in Redditch - we honestly do not know what we would have done without their generosity. 💛 💛 💛
