Support the Record 🌻

It’s almost that time to record - I booked a studio in Lyme, CT for the first week of November.

Support the Record

I’ve waited two years to record these songs and release them together as a full length chapter book. I’ve finally taken the first step thanks to a $5000 grant from the Levitate Foundation that will cover six full days in the studio. Four of those days will be recording with the full band. The rest of the time will be going back over vocals, experimenting with pedal steel, violin, banjo overdubs, and frolicking around the farm.

Levitating. Roads. Rivers.

Last week, I just got back from a road trip with my beautiful friend Alexis. We drove her subaru from Westerly, Rhode Island to Nashville, Tennessee! The drive took three days, with stops in Shenandoah and the Smokies.

Me and Alexis in Shenandoah

In Nashville, we ate the hot chicken, tried on boots, and hollered along with the band at Roberts Western World. Our second night started at springwater dive for open mic and met new friends Kurt and Simm, then to Doc Downs open mic at Smokehaus, and finally to a comedy open mic to cheer on another new friend Susan.

Dog Days. Routine. Levitate.

Hey there !

BIG NEWS - I was chosen as an emerging songwriter of the year by the Levitate Foundation and get to play at the Levitate Music Festival in Marshfield MA on July 19. They are also awarding me a $5,000 grant that will go towards my debut album.

I'm still crying and can't believe that I get to perform my songs in front of hundreds of people. I'll let you in on the setlist at the bottom of this email:)

First ever River Crew newsletter

To start, welcome! I’m writing from Westerly, RI in my little cabin settled in the backyard of my friends house. Everyone is outside bustling around, watering their garden, hanging clothes to dry, and taking out the recycling.

Here’s my first big announcement to share:

A couple months ago I applied for a songwriters showcase at Levitate Festival in Marshfield, MA. Out of 845 applicants, the judges put my song “You’ll Be Okay” in the final 15! Here’s a link to that song —> https://caseyrivers.bandcamp.com/track/youll-be-okay

This showcase supports emerging songwriters with a $5,000+ grant and the opportunity to get on stage at the Levitate Music Festival. I’m not sure how I made it into this lineup of incredible songwriters, but my name is there so… PLEASE GIVE ME A VOTE:) here’s the link —> https://levitatefoundation.org/songwriter-of-the-year-levitate/
