Yesterday, the US Department of Education announced that it was moving the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) to Health and Human Services, and the Office of Civil Rights to the Department of Justice.

If you already know what this means, and you live in the US, please use easy form to contact your House and Senate representatives and demand they prevent this disaster. (via the Council for Exceptional Children.)

If you don’t know what it means, basically, the federal agencies that oversee the IEP process are being sabotaged, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has a history of bizarre statements and actions on disability and public health, will have power over the education of millions of children with disabilities.
