Walking the Land team up. Planning meeting tomorrow 7pm
Hello Walkspace members!
This is a members-only newsletter to inform you about an upcoming team-up with Gloucestershire-based walking artist group Walking the Land and how to get involved. See below for link to join tomorrow’s planning meeting at 7pm.
Evening discussion/presentation with Walking the Land, 26 May
We are planning a shared evening with Walking the Land - the walking artist collective who some of us met with in Worcester back in January.
Formed in 2002, the collective links landscape, community and art through projects, research, exhibitions, installations, writing and shared walks with numerous artists, other professions and wider communities.
They have kindly invited us to join them at their Last Tuesday Cafe (similar to our Salons) on May 26th - this is an evening event held on zoom.
The theme is “Crossing Borders and Boundaries” - it’ll be an evening of presentations and group discussions, delving into the intersections of practice between Walking the Land and Walkspace and scoping potential meeting points for future exploration.
We need to prepare a 10 min presentation including short intro/history plus 4-6 images to support focus on boundaries and borders theme and demonstrating group practice e.g. walks/events/projects/exhibitions/artwork etc.
The theme may be interpreted as broadly as we wish and there will be opportunity to talk about both individual art practice as well as collaborative work under the Walkspace banner.
If you would like to contribute to this event you are very welcome to join our planning meeting tomorrow 22 April at 7pm. Here is your link to join: https://meet.google.com/udx-rqgs-vnz
If you can’t make it tomorrow you can still contribute by joining the “walking the land cafe” Whatsapp chat or by emailing me (Paul) at: [email protected]
Many thanks,
Paul
