Crossing Borders & Boundaries 26th May online cafe

Hello Walkspace members!

Walkspace’s ongoing exchange with Gloucestershire-based walking art group Walking the Land continues with an online event on Tuesday, May 26th. You are very welcome to join us.

Walking the Land have invited us to joint-host one of their Last Tuesday Cafés (similar to our Salons) on the theme of crossing borders and boundaries.

Please join us online 7.30pm - 9pm, Tuesday May 26th for an evening of presentations and group discussions delving into the intersections of practice and to explore potential meeting points for future exploration between Walking the Land and Walkspace.

Here is your link to join.

If you are coming please RSVP by replying to this email or to Paul on Whatsapp.

The draft agenda is as follows:

7:30pm - Cafe Doors open

7:35pm - Brief welcome, introduce the evening call focus - following a January Worcester walk where Walking the Land and Walkspace met in person this LTC is an evening to learn more about each group’s practice and open conversations exploring how we might connect more across borders and boundaries.

7:40pm – Walkspace Presentation  (10 mins) to include short intro/history to each group with examples of walks/projects/work.

7:50pm – Brief Walkspace Q&A following presentation.

8:00pm – Walking the Land Presentation  (10 mins) to include short intro/history to each group with examples of walks/projects/work.

8:10pm – Brief Walking the Land Q&A following presentation.

8:20pm - Breakout room (20 mins) small mixed group discussion - continuing themes/thoughts raised in presentations. Such as drawing out common areas of interest between wtl and walkspace, etc, which could be developed into future themes to develop between the two groups (and include ideas for future meetings) coming up with ideas for themes and meeting places for in person, online and remote future gatherings and walks.

Prompts for discussion:
* Any approaches to operating as walking artist networks learnt from the presentations?
* Were there any particularly interesting ideas explored through walks or projects?
* Consider ideas for Walkspace and Walking the Land to work together such as long-distance shared walks? Both in person and remotely? Participate in existing projects e.g. Walking in Pairs?

8:40pm – Feedback (15 mins) to whole group with ideas from Breakout room discussions.

8:55pm - Thanks to all, and reminder upcoming First Friday Walks and date of next Last Tuesday Cafe.

9pm - Close

Here again is your link to join.

We hope to see you there!
