Hello Walkspace members!

We have a position opening up on the Walkspace Committee as our esteemed Secretary and friend …kruse will be moving on at the end of June. If you’ve been thinking about getting a bit more involved with Walkspace but haven’t been sure how, perhaps this is the opportunity for you.

Could you be our next Secretary?

The primary role of the Secretary is to record the minutes at committee meetings (once a month, online) and general meetings (ad hoc, online) and send them out. That is the essential requirement. Secretaries may sometimes take on further responsibilities such as internal communications and being a point of contact for the organisation but we recognise this is a voluntary role and so Committee members aren’t expected to take on anything beyond what they have capacity for.

All Committee members self-define their own roles when they begin so that expectations are set fairly. Committee members also have collective overall responsibility for ensuring Walkspace fulfils is objectives.

All Committee members will stand down at the next AGM in September or October but all are free to re-nominate themselves for the following year. This essentially gives you 3 or so months to try out the role before deciding if you want to stay on longer term.
