Two February walks and new book club
Hello walkers!
We are pleased to announce two new public walks later this month and the launch of a new Walkspace book club.
Sunday Feb 22 - Wandering Rocks for Terminalia
Terminalia is an international festival of walking and psychogeography and this year’s theme is “Rock”. We’re celebrating with an erratic boulder hunt around Bournville and Cotteridge, Birmingham. Join Andy and Bharti for a playful 1.5 mile tour of these fascinating ice age artefacts.
Thurs Feb 26 - Common Ground: Walking Wild Walsall
We’re delighted to be teaming up with the Wildlife Trust again for this creative walk around some of the wild spaces of north Walsall. Join Danni and Andy to explore an ancient common, a disused railway line, a memorial sculpture garden, a community garden and try your hand at some “wild drawing”.
Walkspace Book Club
We’ve teamed up with Friends of Stirchley Library in Birmingham for a new book club on the theme of walking, exploring and the outdoors. First meeting is Wednesday 18 March, 6:30pm at Stirchley Library and the book for discussion is WG Sebald’s “The Rings of Saturn”.
Book club members choose the books by poll and meetings will be every 3rd Wednesday of the month. For more info and to join please email Jen at [email protected]
Happy walking!
