Your Weekly AI Leadership Ritual: 5 Prompts You Can Use Today
I've shared a lot of frameworks, principles, and strategies in this newsletter.
Today I want to be purely practical. Here are five prompts — one for each day of the work week — that will make you a more effective leader starting immediately.
No philosophy. No frameworks. Just tools.
Monday: The Priority Calibrator
"Here are my priorities for this week: [list them]. Based on [your strategic goals or OKRs], rank these by strategic impact. Identify any priorities that are urgent but not important, and recommend what I should delegate, defer, or drop. Be honest about what's actually important vs. what just feels urgent."
Start every week by making sure you're pointed in the right direction.
Tuesday: The Meeting Optimizer
Before your biggest meeting of the week, use this:
"I'm leading a meeting on [topic] with [who's attending]. The goal is [desired outcome]. Draft an agenda that: starts with the most important decision, allocates time proportionally to importance, identifies what can be decided async before the meeting, and ends with clear action items and owners. Keep it to [time] minutes."
Most meetings fail because they lack structure. This gives you structure in sixty seconds.
Wednesday: The Stakeholder Decoder
When you're dealing with a complex organizational dynamic:
"I'm navigating a situation where [describe the situation]. The key stakeholders are [list them] with these interests: [what each cares about]. Analyze the underlying dynamics — where interests align, where they conflict, and what each stakeholder's likely response would be to these options: [your options]. Recommend an approach that builds the most coalition support."
This is like having a chief of staff who understands organizational politics.
Thursday: The Feedback Crafter
Before your one-on-ones:
"I need to give feedback to a team member about [situation]. The behavior I observed was [specific behavior]. The impact was [what happened as a result]. I want to be direct but supportive. Draft feedback that: names the behavior specifically, explains the impact clearly, invites their perspective, and proposes a path forward. Tone: honest and caring, not harsh or corporate."
Great feedback is specific, timely, and focused on behavior — not personality. This prompt ensures all three.
Friday: The Week-in-Review Synthesizer
"Here's what happened this week: [paste your notes, status updates, key events]. Synthesize this into: (1) the three most important things that happened, (2) the one thing that's trending in a concerning direction, (3) the biggest win I should celebrate with my team, and (4) the one thing I should prioritize next week based on what I learned this week."
End every week with clarity, not just exhaustion.
The Ritual Effect
Individually, each prompt saves you 15-30 minutes of mental labor. Together, as a weekly ritual, they create a rhythm of intentional leadership that compounds over time.
The leaders who build AI into their daily practice — not as a special project but as a daily tool — develop a cognitive advantage that grows every week.
Try This Monday
Pick any one of these prompts. Use it today. If it helps, add the next one tomorrow. Build the ritual one day at a time.
This is what AI-first leadership looks like in practice. Not grand strategy. Daily discipline.
