短信 / Brief Update

ちょっとアレコレと一杯詰まってしまったので、先週分「W37」のニュースレターはスキップしてしまいました！
（なんだろう！？新学期になってあれもこれも動き出した感じ！？）
しかしその分今週はたくさん内容があります！

Things got a bit hectic, so I ended up skipping last week's newsletter (W37)!
(What's going on!? It feels like everything started moving at once now that the new semester has kicked off!?)
But that means there's plenty of content this week!

一方。
いやぁ、、秋だ。。というか、横浜は「涼しい」のを通り越してなんだかちょっと「寒い」気も少し。。
銀杏の実も地面に落ち始めて、街路を歩くのに少しだけ緊張感を覚え始める時期ですね。
しかし、、確か去年の秋は「なかなか銀杏の葉も色づかない。。」という状況だったと思うのですが。。
ともあれ、秋は春と合わせて最も活動的になれる時期なので、いろいろ頑張って作業を進めていきたいと思います。

Meanwhile...
It's autumn already (hello from Japan). 
Actually, here in Yokohama it's gone past "cool" and is starting to feel a little "cold."
Ginkgo nuts have started falling on the ground, which means it's that time of year when walking down the street requires a bit of vigilance. (If you've never had the pleasure — they smell *terrible* when crushed underfoot.)
Though if I remember right, last autumn the ginkgo leaves were stubbornly refusing to change color...
Anyway, autumn (along with spring) is when I'm at my most productive, so I'm hoping to push forward on a bunch of things!

色々あるのですが、時系列順でお送りします！

Lots to cover, so I'll go in chronological order!

① tindieにP8 v2.2のPCBオンリー版を出品しました！

すでにご自身の手元にXiao BLE等がある場合や、日本で私が部材調達してお届けするよりも、ご自身でBOMリストを揃える方が安く済む場合などにオススメです！

① Listed the P8 v2.2 PCB-Only Version on Tindie!
It's more affordable!
This is a great option if you already have a Xiao BLE, or if sourcing the BOM yourself would be cheaper than having me procure and ship the parts from Japan.

現在在庫数は2セット分です。
ただ、こちらは後述のとおり完成版のP8-v2.2を作るために共有することになるので、そのうち在庫が減る予定です。

Currently 2 sets in stock.
However, as I'll mention below, I'll be using some of this stock to build completed P8 v2.2 units, so inventory will decrease soon.

I was genuinely shocked...
I never imagined it would get picked up by an authority in the field like that.
(And on top of that, it was placed at the very top of the latest issue...)

④ クイックスタートガイドを公開しました

P8をご購入いただいたあと、すぐ利用できるようにクイックスタートガイドを書きました。

④ Published a Quick Start Guide
I wrote a quick start guide so that buyers can get up and running with P8 right away.

まだこれから「how-to」系の記事は追加していきます。

I'll be adding more how-to articles going forward.

...という具合に、Peaky 8-bit関連は先週・今週と出来事が山盛りでした。。
続いてBlenderでの作業について。

...So yeah, the past two weeks have been absolutely packed with Peaky 8-bit developments.
Next up, here's what I've been working on in Blender.

Peaky 8-bitに興味があってニュースレター登録してくださった方へ：
ご興味ないかもしれませんが、開発者の3Dモデリング能力のショーケースと思っていただければと。
つまりまぁ、これぐらいはモデリングできます、というやつですね。
なので、、、P8のケースの最適化が進んでいない場合、「余裕がない」か「サボっている」ということです。。
ただ、ちゃんと説明すると、こういう作業をしているから、もう腱鞘炎もひどくてP8みたいなものが必要で作っている、、、という背景もあったりします。
ちなみに、Peaky 8-bitのはんだ付けの説明図もBlenderで作っています。

Note for those who subscribed to this newsletter because of Peaky 8-bit:
This next section might not be your thing, but think of it as a showcase of the developer's 3D modeling skills.
In other words — this is the level of modeling I'm capable of.
So... if P8's case optimization isn't progressing, it means I'm either swamped or slacking😓🥴🫠.
That said, to properly explain — it's precisely because I do this kind of intensive modeling work that I develop repetitive strain issues, which is part of why I needed something like P8 in the first place.
By the way, the soldering instruction diagrams for Peaky 8-bit are also made in Blender.

5月から家具・Propsを作りだめていたアセットを、ようやくリリースしました！！
手が...手首が死ぬ。。

I finally released the furniture and props asset pack that I've been building up since May!!
My hands... my wrists are dying...😵‍💫

今週はこんな感じでした。
