Whew! My planned 24 hour livestream fundraiser turned into 16.5 hours, but it was still so worthwhile! Good Trouble dropped in to cohost for a while, and that brought over so many of his community, and helped raise the funds much higher. I could not be more grateful🙇🏾♀️.
Here’s a little list of the activities I had planned, what worked and what didn’t:
**AMA / hangout Q&A** (ask me anything… within reason) this was really fun, but I think I expected more questions - guess my life is a bit more boring than I thought😩
* Photo Roulette in my Aziraphale Bag — I close my eyes, grab a random old photo from my past, and tell the story behind it. About the name of the bag: IYKYK😊. This worked pretty well.
* ’I’m not a gamer’ — you watch me ‘game’ on my PC and y’all yell helpful tips like a loving sports parent. This was great, because Vyle, my moderator, got me Untitled Goose Game, and that is about my level of gaming proficiency, so, awesome! Also, fun! and I like the company that makes it, Panic.
* Get in my reps — quick weights / kettlebell so I can make Good Trouble jealous…(ha!). I only did this at the beginning but it helped loosen me up, so, win!
* Library Time — I grab a few books, you pick one, I read a bit out loud. this didn’t happen at all; it just didn’t feel like it would fit the folks who were there.
* Music Lab — I play a song snippet from my voice memos and try to build a tiny beat in Logic. this didn’t happen and in fact, it was the one I felt the most unsure about, so…fine.
* Story Engine improv — random Story Engine cards → instant story; chat gets to heckle and contribute. I really thought this one would be a good community activity, but the time didn’t seem to allow for it.
* Kitchen intermission — my weekly foods, cooked like a tiny food documentary (with zero chef credentials. zero.) this one worked pretty well-in fact, I’m going to make highlights for my miso soup recipe and put that out separately so folks can try it if they like.
* Let’s Art! — I’ll work on a watercolor or digital piece-in-progress. I did this, but to be honest, it was a) hard to concentrate on painting and the chat; and b)it wasn’t a good piece, so my excitement level was low🤷🏾♀️
Thanks so much for everyone who supported, in whatever way you supported this livestream project. Y’all are the best!💙
