The Record Weekly: Ring the Bell and Buy the Hospital

The Record Weekly: Ring the Bell and Buy the Hospital

Jul 11, 2026

Happy post-Fourth of July, Norwood! πŸŽ‰

We hope you had as much fun celebrating our nation's 250th birthday as we did. Judging by the thousands packing Washington Street and the Town Common last Saturday, we're pretty sure you did.

On the legislative side, the State House of Representatives passed its side of the eminent domain bill for the Norwood Hospital. Now it just needs the senate and the Governor (and then a whole bunch of further steps) to hopefully bring the hospital back online after more than six years.

Meanwhile, Life Scout Bridgette MacLeann is working hard on her Eagle Scout project with the Trails Advisory Committee to bring mindfulness to the Ellis Playground Trail.

Also, the Town's own No. 7 fire bell has found a new home at Town Hall after decades sitting idle in the belfry πŸ“£.

Dive into this week's issue to read about these stories and more from around Norwood.
