The Record Weekly: Hospital needs help, Town nixes prime Amazon parking

Jul 19, 2026

Happy weekend Norwood!

We hope you're breathing easy this week. This edition of the Norwood Record focuses on updates for the Norwood Hospital project. Town officials are asking you to help push eminent domain legislation through its final stages in the State Legislature.

In local business news, the Norwood Zoning Board of Appeals denied a proposal from the owners of the old Telco Property (big, old building northeast of the Route 1 Traffic Circle [Pendergast Circle]) to allow Amazon to park 200 vehicles there for its University Avenue distribution facility.

Just a stone's throw away at the Route 1/University Avenue Intersection, the plan for a new Costco location at 1 Technology Way hit another snag as there are potential wetlands there, throwing off previously established boundaries.

Stay tuned for more updates in this week's edition of The Norwood Record!
