Two Terrific Books
Hello, Hungry Readers,
We have made it to February which always seems like a sign of something. I’m always a little happier about the world when there is a little more light.
Well, here’s some things I read and enjoyed lately with Bookshop links.
Twenty Four Seconds From Now by Jason Reynolds has a subtitle that refers to it as a love story. I know romance readers are often rightly wary of that term, but this book does have a happy ending, and is the story of two people coming together, told non-linearly.
Here for the Right Reasons by Jodi McAlister was just wildly enjoyable story of a woman who drunkenly auditions for a dating reality show, and then accepts because it pays and she lost her job due to the pandemic. I enjoy fake reality shows and the three stories in this trilogy have nearly the same timeline, which is a feat I appreciate because I have tried that and it always seems like such a fun idea and then is so, so much work.
Also, speaking of things I have written, now, wink, wink, might be a great time to sign up for my ARC reader list if that’s a thing you are into doing.
Hope you are finding enough light.
