New case stories - read aloud!

Hi there! It’s time to share some new cases stories and projects I’ve done recently! :)

I did two big projects: Lederes Trivsel, a set of digital intervention tools for improving the well-being of managers and executives across organisations, and Design denmarks The New Design Buyer’s Guide, a survey tool for guiding to better processes working with design.

Also, I did a nice new website for Datafair’s event series WE ARE NOT WAITING trying to push forward the processes of working with health data in Denmark.

The Stories Without Endings 2023 recap

Soon to pull the plug for the holidays, here's a little recap of 2023 for Stories Without Endings. And a little holiday tip for you at the end!

An eventful year

I'm happy to say that it was a year filled with events and meeting new people. Working as an independent, it's fantastic to get out there once in a while, meeting both like-minded and different-minded people and sharing experience and opportunties.

Happy new years! Thank you, 2022

It's time for the yearly wrap! :) My third full year with Stories Without Endings is coming to an end. Now calling it a one-man digital design studio, I feel closer to understanding, defining, and communicating what I offer in a much better way. While maintaining the curiosity and openness for new opportunities that I thrive with as a digital designer and that I believe you need to have, working within the ever-changing landscape of new technology.

It's mostly been a year in healthcare for me. Apart from entering into a new role as an active angel investor and doing a lot of work developing ForskningNu.dk designing and implementing a new subscription model with extended screening options for clinical trials recruiting participants, I did a bunch of work with two exciting companies:

The health data analysis platform Datafair.org for whom I made two presentation websites for their collaboration projects OSCAR and CLIC both flavored with each their own nice little UX concepts and another opportunity for moving far beyond the traditional slide show or PDF file project presentation approach.

Recent work: Webflow, Webflow, Webflow

A huge wave is rolling through the internet. More and more businesses and web projects move from WordPress to Webflow. And as a digital product designer and no-code developer, it’s just an awesome feeling to be able to surf it.

Being able to work through full projects from art direction and visual identity, across design and follow through with the full implementation and deliver a final product on a secure and reliable platform is simply great. No more plug in-updates, PHP, or database connections. And no more issues with hosting or servers or energy-draining support tasks. Webflow supports the full flow in a single solid platform, and the ability to get from the ground to something great fast.

For the past months, I’ve been doing two major projects on Webflow (See case story links below). DeepOcean for the Norwegian offshore service company and Slow Adventure, an exciting new UK-based travel platform offering, intimate, guided adventures in nature evening out our traveling footprints by supporting local impact projects.

What a year! The stories continue...

Despite the obvious challenges of our time, it’s been a great year for Stories Without Endings, and for me ending my second full year on my own as consultant and freelancer.

UX driven product design

For now, I’ve landed on this short description of what I do: “UX-driven product design”. And the year has been filled with just that.

From a few smaller UX projects for Dental Media and Smallbrooks in the Spring. I went on to build a few full product projects. The app and website O-teknik for orienteering runners around Copenhagen, and a case story website for my friends Jonas and Silas aka Kenton Slash Demon and their sound design company waa.

Stories Without Endings

The past months have been filled with interesting projects across the full spectrum of digital design. I’ve taken the first steps for a new media platform. I’ve been creating an app for the tiny niche of the local community of orienteering runners, and done more general interest work on a new open crowdfunding platform for companies and organisations. On a personal note, I’ve released an album(!) with music and the full range of art work and digital assets that goes with it these days.

Check out the projects and links below .

New UX work, Webflow Expert Professional Partner, and public debate

The past few months have been super busy, so I thought it was time with a little update before springtime kicks in!

I super proud and happy to have been included in the Webflow Experts listing as a Professional Partner - Webflow is rather a new platform for building websites, a bit like WordPress, but easier to get started with, and with more freedom for design. I’ve been very happy about working with the platform on multiple projects and seeing the platform progress in a good direction. I look forward to many great projects to come. Maybe one together with you? :)

Also, I’ve wrapped up a few great UX projects recently. Check out the case stories on my recent work with True Energy and with Dental Media.

At last, I want to mention that I joined the public debate about Facebook vs. Media - with an opinion piece (in Danish) advising big Danish media to upgrade on the UX of their business models instead of trying to get Facebook top pay for their links and ruin the internet.

New Stories Without Endings

The first year in business has been thrilling! Besides lots of smaller projects and collaborations that I’ve been craving to meet more people, to try on different challenges, and to enjoy the feeling of making something better, big or small I have also been fortunate enough to be trusted with bigger projects.

The latest big one was a complete redesign of the ten years old Danish online media and jobs platform for students of Economics ALT ANDET LIGE that just launched this week. I wrote a case story about the process from taking a step back, over creating a new visual identity, and to the UX and UI design process. Check it out below.

Also, I’ve just released a short guiding article on how to help podcast listeners go from the web to their phones with a QR code (link below). And I’m also still working, slowly though, on moving ahead with Periodical, a tool assisting publishers creating full and immersive publications online.

Let me know if you have comments or questions about any of my projects! And let me know, If you have an exciting project we can work on together! :)

Adding to the KP Alumne case story and introducing the Periodical side project.

It’s been a busy spring with lots of exiting work to do.

Back in February I went to the Awwwards Conference in Amsterdam for new inspiration. In the world of UX and digital design the tri-annually and global conference series and their elaborate website with daily additions of great digital design is great place to follow and catch up on new trends.

Besides that I’ve mainly been working on the ongoing project with Københavns Professionshøjskole and turning the side project Periodical into something even more serious.

Case story: Annual Report Concept and UX Design

Starting out as independent consultant and freelancer a few months I did not imagine that I’d be tasked with a challenge of this magnitude: Create the concept, UX Design and reading experience of the annual report for a Danish multinational company. That’s what happened!

I’m super proud of the project I did as part of the data wizards at Inviso’s team. The digital report went live a few weeks ago, right on time. I cannot reveal the identity of the client, but I can share something about the process and the thoughts behind the work. I do that in my case story here below.

Now I’m ready to pursue new challenges within editorial design and digital publications.

Hello, 2020! And thanks for a great start for Stories Without Endings

Three months after going solo with my freelance and consultancy business I’m happy to report that I came off to a good start!

After warming up during the spring of 2019 with the launch of Klimanyt where I was behind the Art Direction, Design and Implementation, I ended the year with two brand new project launches. The online community-oriented universe for new mothers, Momkind. There I implemented the visual identity in blog and product structure on the Shopify platform. And the new alumni platform KP Alumne for news, events, and podcasts at Københavns Professionshøjskole. There I took part in the strategic planning, the concept design and implemented it in Webflow. It’s an ongoing engagement that will continue to expand and improve in 2020. See the case stories below for more details.

I started out offering a branch of services. Including Product Design, Product Management, Webdesign and implementation, Community Building, and Startup Consultancy. And further defining my values as a contractor and a business. It’s now becoming clear to me that editorial design is at the core of my interests and of projects I enjoy working on.
