The Knepps Collective
Come walk with us - Friday 28th June
You might have seen a feature in the Guardian yesterday on our next destination for The Steps Collective…
That’s right, we’re off to The Knepp Estate in West Sussex for a wander and a wonder about regenerative practices, inspired by being in the surroundings of a trailblazing 3,500-acre rewilding project.
This idea was one hatched with Tom Farrand, as we were talking to him about joining us to talk about his work over the last fifteen or so years, and more specifically his current exploration of what it takes for life to thrive.
“Let’s do it outside” very rapidly became “let’s do it at Knepp…”
Tom is playing around with an idea of ‘wannabe game park ranger’, and has found a piece of land near his home where there is a lot of life, and he is starting to discover why that is, and what we might learn from it.
We will be thinking a lot about all of these factors on this special day in June, set in the incredible environment to do that in. Come and join us, if you’ve been thinking about your own local environment too, and either have stories to share, or want to hear how others have started.
Logistics
We will start at 10:30, finish by 14:30, and there is an on-site cafe (though feel free to bring a lunch too).
Interested in joining us? Then please sign up here.
If you are able to make your own way there, then great. Should you need a lift from a nearby train station, we will be sorting out car shares where we can - just reply and let us know once you’ve signed up.
Kind regards
The Steps Collective
PS The film Wilding about The Knepp Estate is out on the 14th June - you can find details of where to see it here.
