The Sonification Awards deadline is approaching
Hi folks,
This is the final message we’ll send to remind you that the Sonification Awards 2026 closes in a few days - the deadline is the end of the day (in whatever timezone you’re in) on 31 December.
Before you get out the fireworks and bubbly to celebrate the New Year, make sure that you’ve submitted all the sonification works that you’ve created in the last two years (that you haven’t already submitted) to the Awards.
CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT YOUR WORK!
As we’ve noted previously, any projects released in the last two years can be submitted in three categories - Arts, Communication, and Analysis. Submitting is pretty easy, though there are some (hopefully easy) requirements in the Communication and Art categories about documentation. We’ve tried to balance up ease of submission with ease of judging.
Once you’ve submitted your work, volunteer judges from the community (please sign up to be one!) will evaluate all the valid entries based on the criteria for the category they were submitted in. These criteria have been developed by the community, and are updated annually.
All entries that meet the criteria will be equally recognized as winners. These will be announced in Spring 2026, and will also be permanently showcased in the Data Sonification Archive.
The team
The Data Sonification Awards is a collaboration between Sara Lenzi and Paolo Ciuccarelli from the Data Sonification Archive and Duncan Geere from the Loud Numbers data sonification studio. Jordan Wirfs-Brock leads the communication committee, Jamie Perera leads the arts committee, and Myounghoon Jeon leads the analysis committee.
