Hello Sideyard Friends,

One of the importers we work with, Genuine Origin, started a program in 2016 to support female coffee growers. They imported just 2,000 lbs of coffee that first year but it’s grown into an effort that now supports more than 800 women farmers in Huehuetenango and Baja Verapaz.

In the cup I’m tasting notes of dark chocolate, caramel, blackberry, and vanilla. We have one bag in stock.

The origin track for the week is a cover of Casas De Carton by Grupo Comanche. According to the info in this instagram post, Grupo Comanche was persecuted by the Guatemalan government at the time (1970’s) for their protest songs and some members were forced to leave the country.
