Long time no see!

We took a little break from sending newsletters, but we definitely did not take a break from building ReMix. We have been working hard behind the scenes, strengthening our foundation, developing new partnerships, and preparing for the next phase of our work.

Because you are part of our email community, you get to hear our biggest update first.

Our Biggest Win Yet

ReMix Science & Care has been awarded a $15,000 RISE HIGH Grant from Neighborhood Allies to support the launch of our first microgrant program this fall!

This funding will help us begin directly removing financial barriers for students pursuing opportunities in STEM and healthcare. It brings us one major step closer to making sure students do not have to miss educational, professional development, networking, or career-building opportunities simply because they cannot afford to participate.

We are incredibly grateful to Neighborhood Allies for believing in ReMix and investing in our vision. This is a huge milestone for our organization, but it is only the beginning.

August Is ReMix’s Birthday Month

On August 29, 2025, ReMix Science & Care officially became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

What started with Skye, Hannah, and CiArra, with Alanni joining the team along the way, began as a shared belief that talented students should not have to navigate STEM and healthcare pathways alone. Students should not have to miss life-changing opportunities because of cost, limited access, or a lack of community support.

Almost one year later, ReMix has received its first major grant, developed a growing community of supporters, and continued building toward some very big dreams.

We are proud of how far we have come, and even more excited about where we are going.

Help Us Match the Grant

Our next goal is to match the full $15,000 grant by partnering with businesses and organizations throughout the Pittsburgh region.

Businesses that contribute $1,000 will be recognized as ReMix Founding Community Partners. Founding Community Partners will receive recognition through our website, social media platforms, organizational materials, annual impact reporting, and future ReMix events and student networking opportunities.

These partnerships will help us expand the number of students we can support and build a more sustainable foundation for future microgrants, mentorship, programming, and community initiatives.

Supporting ReMix is not limited to businesses or large donations. Every contribution helps us move this work forward.
