Issue #38 - The Chrome-extension email finder that charges you only when it actually finds something
What it is
Your outbound motion stalls when you can't find a valid email address. Prospeo is a B2B contact data tool that takes a LinkedIn or Sales Navigator profile and hands you a verified email address — and optionally a mobile number — without leaving the page. It targets the core problem of bad email data: high bounce rates, wasted credits, and lists that go stale within weeks. The pitch is accuracy first, everything else second. It does not send emails, score leads, or manage sequences. It finds contacts, verifies them, and gets out of the way.
Where it sits in the stack
Prospeo sits in the data/enrichment layer. It focuses purely on data accuracy and enrichment — no built-in sequencer or CRM — making it the right call when you want the cleanest possible contact data to feed into a separate tool like Clay or Lemlist.
Common workflow pairings include HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Clay, Zapier, Make, n8n, Instantly, Lemlist, Outreach, Salesloft, and Smartlead. It most directly competes with Hunter.io and Apollo's enrichment layer, though Apollo bundles far more on top.
Three workflows people actually run
1. LinkedIn SDR prospecting with the Chrome extension - The Chrome extension sits inside Sales Navigator and LinkedIn profiles — no copy-pasting URLs, no switching tabs. Filter by role, seniority, industry, and location, then reveal verified emails and mobile numbers in a single click.
You browse, click the extension, and get a verified email in seconds. In testing, the extension detected the right profile, returned an email within 2–3 seconds, and results were consistently accurate. The UI shows the email, confidence level, and company domain without cluttering the LinkedIn interface. Push the result directly to HubSpot or Salesforce via native integration. Best credit-per-result ratio on the platform.
2. Bulk CSV enrichment for agency list builds - Export a list from Sales Navigator or pull a CSV of name + company + LinkedIn URL. Upload it to Prospeo's bulk email finder. The bulk email finder lets you upload CSV files or export Sales Navigator lists to enrich contacts at scale. Enriched output drops back as a CSV, which you import into Instantly or Smartlead to kick off a cold sequence. Critical gotcha here (see Pricing below): individual lookups only charge for valid results, but bulk CSV imports and Sales Navigator exports consume credits for every row — whether Prospeo finds an email or not. Pre-filter your list before uploading.
3. API-powered waterfall enrichment inside Clay - Many agencies use Prospeo daily for scraping LinkedIn Sales Nav, verifying emails, and enriching data inside Clay. The pattern: build your ICP filter in Clay, call Apollo or LinkedIn as a first pass, then hit Prospeo's API as a second waterfall step for any contacts that came back without a verified email. Prospeo's proprietary 5-step verification process only charges a credit when a valid result is confirmed — so in this waterfall context you're only paying for genuine fills. Combine with a verifier like Millionverifier at the end to catch anything that slipped through, then push clean data to your sequencer.
What it costs
Prospeo offers a free plan plus four paid tiers. Pricing is flat — annual billing does not lower the monthly rate.
Free: 75 email credits/mo + 100 Chrome extension credits/mo. Email finder and verifier included. No mobile lookups.
Basic — $39/mo: 1,000 credits. Email finder, domain search, bulk export, API access, mobile finder included. ~$0.039 per credit.
Pro — $99/mo: 5,000 credits. Everything in Basic plus priority processing. ~$0.020 per credit.
Business — $199/mo: 20,000 credits. Dedicated support and higher API rate limits. ~$0.010 per credit.
Corporate — $369/mo: 50,000 credits. Priority everything. ~$0.007 per credit.
The credit gotchas you need to know:
- Emails cost 1 credit each; mobile numbers cost 10 credits each. If you're doing mobile lookups, that's a 10× multiplier that chews through plans fast.
- Verifying an email you already have costs 0.5 credits.
- Credits reset every month and do not roll over. Anything you don't spend is gone at the end of the cycle. Plan your usage or you're paying for air.
- Some users report match rates as low as 4.5% on large Sales Navigator lists — combine that with per-row credit consumption in bulk mode and one bad import can wipe out a month of credits.
- Annual billing does not lower the monthly rate — unusual for SaaS, and worth factoring into your comparison.

Who it's for (and who should skip it)
Good fit: Individual lookups via Chrome extension and API-based workflows with small, controlled batches are where Prospeo earns its keep. SDRs working LinkedIn daily, agencies enriching curated shortlists, and RevOps engineers building waterfall pipelines in Clay will get solid results. The entire database refreshes on a 7-day cycle — the industry average is six weeks — which matters for outbound teams chasing contacts who changed jobs recently.
Skip it if: You bulk-process low-hit-rate lists, such as Sales Navigator exports with unknown contacts.
The main downsides are bulk credit waste on failed lookups, no waterfall enrichment, no native CRM write-back, no buying intent signals, and inconsistent customer support. If you need all of that in one place, Apollo or a Clay-native stack covers more ground. If bulk economics are the priority, tools like Findymail may give you a better per-find rate on large batches.
