What's New in openDAW
A short collection of what changed in openDAW since our last newsletter. Everything below is live at https://opendaw.studio.
Delay Compensation
A limiter with lookahead needs a moment to do its job. Until now, that made its track play a little late against the rest of the song. openDAW now evens this out on its own, so every track lines up again. Automation and modulation stay in time too.
Export a Section
Mixdowns and stems can now cover a chosen part of the song: the loop area, a marker, or the entire song.
More Export Formats
Exports now offer Opus and 24-bit WAV. Opus files are small and easy to share, 24-bit WAV keeps the full quality for further work.
Sidechains and Samples in Scripts
Werkstatt and Apparat scripts can listen to any number of other tracks as sidechains, and Werkstatt scripts can load samples like Apparat already could. A script can also report its own delay, which delay compensation then takes care of.
Taller Tracks
Timeline tracks can be resized from their header, so a track full of detail gets the room it needs.
More WebCLAP Plugins

The plugin library keeps growing with new ports:
• Surge XT by the Surge Synth Team, a hybrid synthesizer
• Odin2 by TheWaveWarden, a semi-modular synthesizer
• Six Sines by BaconPaul, a fm synthesizer
• RipplerX by Tilr, a physically modeled synthesizer
• Polarity SC Dark by Polarity, a spectral compressor
WebCLAP without a DAW
We created a small page to test our WebCLAP ports, but you can also use it to quickly play a few massive synthesizers with two clicks on your MIDI keyboard.

openDAW Youtube Channel
openDAW has its own YouTube channel now. The first video looks back on our release meetup in Cologne, and more will follow. Thanks to Sebastian Erzuah Armah for perfectly catching the mood of our little event.
openDAW Instagram
Since our release meetup, more than 5000 people have started following openDAW on Instagram, and Sebastian's recap video has passed 6000 likes. We will keep sharing our journey there, and we hope it gets more people making music.
