Hi! Not a question so much as a note to say that when my dog died, and a friend of mine adopted a dog not long after, my first thought was “you’re going to love that dog so much and then she’s going to die!!” Which is absolutely not to equate or even remotely compare the grief of both of your parents dying with my dog dying, but just to totally agree with you that grief will show up in unexpected locations for so long, and to give yourself more time than you think to … get used to living with grief, I guess.
