Annual Events coming up
The North Carolina Plein Air Art Festival in New Bern is coming up May 11-18. It is juried but you can still join the Quick Paint event and partake in other activities.
I was recently contacted about Brushstrokes in the Blue Ridge happening May 12-16. I haven't added it to the website yet because I'm waiting for them to give me some more info since the website is lacking on some key information. It definitely looks interesting though!
New/changed meetups
Nothing new to report this month! As always, let me know if you find any new recurring live art meetups not yet on the website.
Other announcements
- Durham Art Council's summer class signups start at 10am on Friday, May 8. Set a reminder if you're trying to get into figure drawing.
- Shameless plug: I'm teaching beginning/intermediate watercolor (with a loose style) at Durham Arts Council plus some Friday Night Makes workshops including one that dives into perspective and another for expressive figure drawing in mixed media. Sign up starting May 8!
