Five-ish Ways To Beat The Late Summer Heat… Just Kidding
Oh wow, less than two months until Family Night is out in the world! I just finished going through the loose pages proof and now things are off being printed! You can preorder a copy at a discount directly from Mason Jar Press. This will ship internationally, rates are dependent on location. At launch, there will be an eBook available through Mason Jar Press, for folks who like to carry a few hundred books with them everywhere at any given moment. (It’s me—-I really like both physical, electronic, and audio options.)

Break the Rules with Allie & Ani!
We still have spots open for this deep dive workshop, and I am so excited to dig into these tops. We’re going to look at three standard literary “rules” and then we’ll smash them with a hammer! Feel free to respond to this newsletter if you have any questions; I’m happy to get back to you quickly.
I’m off for my Lordship House residency tomorrow—I’m so excited for this opportunity, and since I’m driving I am bringing way too much stuff, including my typewriter, which has been nice to use, since I seem to have a real aversion to being online or on a computer these days. I suppose after twenty years of sitting a desk, typing and doing video meetings, that’s not super surprising.

This typewriter needs a name! Prompt: Take one of your characters who doesn’t like to travel and put them in a scene where they suddenly have no choice. Alternative: take someone who loves to travel and have someone show up who ruins the whole thing.
No raccoons this week, but I of course have cats! Potato sure takes a nice author photo…
