Well hello there, happy Saturday! And somehow, happy AUGUST?? HOW?

If all went as planned, I’m now firmly ensconced in my long-weekend getaway somewhere NEW TO ME and OCEANSIDE for a girls’ beach / concert trip with my SIL, niece and oldest daughter. I can’t wait to tell you about it on Tuesday!

This was a week of a donut date with a friend, Pilates and foot miles, lots of embroidery, sending best friends the BEST birthday presents, SO MUCH READING, and nearing the end of a summer long goal. I also treated myself to a pedicure after discovering my leaky car tire was an easy (free) fix rather than a pricy replacement ~ WINNING.

What I’ve Been Watching

It’s been a minute since I filled you in on my screen-related activities! I had a big dry spell of watching NOTHING from the end of June until I was at my mom’s because well, I was on the road and doing, doing, doing. But when we’re at my mom’s house, we ALWAYS watch something before bed each evening, and since being home again we’ve had periods of can’t-leave-the-house heat and humidity. Perfect screen time weather!

No notes for each of these, but please know that I enjoyed all of these immensely, as did the various family members I watched them with.

Two Sunny Romances

I read these two delightful romances back-to-back last weekend ~ they’re perfect for the summer season!

I was delighted to find that Susan Lee transitioned from her young adult romances to the decidedly ADULT market with ease, and I loved both of these unique southern California stories.

Julia Song is Undateable features a high-powered boss lady, her delightfully interfering Korean family, and the boy next door who sure has grown up FINE. I adore Julia’s relationship with her family (especially her grandmother) and friends, as well as her business persona. Oh yes, and the LOVELY romance!

See You at the Sunset (releases on August 11) also features amazing grandparent - adult grandchildren relationships, and the Palm Springs retirement community and its residents made me smile the ENTIRE time I was reading this book. And the romance? SO SWEET.

I can’t wait to see what Susan Lee writes next ~ she’s definitely on a roll with her adult titles!
