Well hello there, happy Tuesday!

Today I’m bringing to you some more serious reads that are set along the journey of my last road trip ~ in South Dakota.

It was just in 2021 that I started driving, rather than flying, to my mom’s in Colorado. After ONE trip on which I followed Google Maps’ instructions to go down through Iowa and across Nebraska, I vowed NEVER AGAIN regarding I-80, and started taking I-90 much farther west and cutting south diagonally on back roads through South Dakota and Nebraska.

On my first time doing this new route, my journey took me through Rosebud, South Dakota, and my curiosity with the area and culture was piqued. When we decided to spend even more time in South Dakota on this trip, I decided to focus on the area’s Lakota history in my reading prior to and during our time here.
