Back in 2023, I published a tiny collection of short stories in Dan Sumption’s Krill zine. It’s 12 stories on an A4 page, laid out by Dan. I’ve just put the PDF online. I’m very pleased with how this came out, but I’m also wondering if I can produce something smaller with even more stories.
Writing workshop
I’m running an in-person writing workshop at In a Land Gallery on November 1st. Tickets are £10 and available online.
While everyone will learn about writing very short stories and produce some of their own, this is not your average writing workshop. I’ve been thinking a lot about workshop-as-performance and aim to make this something very different to what you might expect.

Posts here have been slow recently. I’ve been working on a lot of projects, including an anthology piece (at 1,300 words, this counts as an epic for me). There are also the first preparations for the 2026 Mycelium Parish News.
I’m most excited about this year’s horror advent calendar. I received Muffy’s picture yesterday and the whole thing is now with Emma, who does the design. I honestly think this is the best year yet. We’re now racing to get this to print so we can post out international copies. More news soon.
Recommendations
I’ve been a fan of Justin Hopper’s work ever since Penned in the Margins published The Old Weird Albion, his excellent book about the South Downs.
Justin is currently running a kickstarter for The Lost Occult Books of Victor Neuburg. Many people will know of Neuberg as an associate of Aleister Crowley, but he was also an important poet.
You have two weeks left to pledge and it’s looking very likely to hit its goal. You could be the person to put it over the line! Check the Kickstarter for more information.
Coming Soon
Things will probably be quiet here for a little longer, although I have some booklets to give away with the next edition. Each of these is an edition of one. Hopefully, back in two weeks.

Loved last year’s horror advent calendar! A great distraction to the real horror of the season 🤣Looking forward to this year’s.
