Hello, friend! Thanks for taking a quick gander at my [somewhat ... consistent?!] newsletter!

Mending News
Friends, mending is an act of resistance, and I love joining a joyful group at DENVER MENDING CLUB! Leah and I host the group at The Craft Box in Wheat Ridge. Come to our next meeting on Thursday, March 19th! We gather at 6:00pm and stay until 8:30pm, so drop in when you can. Bring a clothing item that needs mending or a patch you've been meaning to sew, and craft alongside other friendly folks! We ask for a $5 entry fee to help pay for rental costs, advertising, and supplies. We advise you to BYO supplies, but we’ll have some mending basics available to use. With this dedicated space, I’ll be bringing my sewing machine to share!

Mending Migration: During the last couple of months of 2025 I had the honor of hosting the Swift Darner Loom from Worth Mending. They designed and developed a darning loom made entirely from recycled materials, and then they created a sisterhood-of-the-traveling-pants style program to send a couple of looms around the US as well as the UK & Europe. You can read about its adventures in Colorado (and Illinois) HERE. (←Click this one if you have time. I LOVED collaborating with Elysha on this blog post.)

Other News & Musings
An intentional 2026: Attention = Love | We live in an economy of attention, and while brands, apps, websites and TV are vying for our attention (have you seen those god-forsaken clickable ads on Prime??? Damn Bezos), there are other ways to bend our attention toward something better. Yoga is a good framework for me (who woulda thunk), and in yoga I practice and teach attention: giving a good demo; pointing out actions in poses; noticing body, breath, and mind in savasana. We’ve always been distracted, no matter the economy, and no matter the technology. We need practice in slowing down and noticing.

I’ll leave this lovely podcast here to niggle your noggin a bit more:

Community: Last week I taught 5 middle schoolers how to darn! Some of them were mildly intrigued and fairly engaged, and others were… distracted middle schoolers, which is to be expected! It was a great opportunity to learn how to teach a certain population, and I’m glad I could guide them in dipping their toes into clothing repair. In the process of preparing for this class, I finally made a dedicated darning zine and re-designed my 3D-printed darning disc. Both of these shall make their appearance at all future darning classes!

Community (part deux): It’s nearing spring and starting gardens, and gathering seeds, and amending soil, and… and the only thing I have the capacity to take on right now is attending my favorite annual Seed Swap! And I’m really excited to attend and grab some hyper-local seeds.

Reading: Station Eternity by Mur Lafferty. So far it’s an entertaining space-station murder mystery.
Watching: 2 short inspiring YouTube videos.
1, an adorable art piece about a cat discovering himself through a handheld mirror.

2, a music video by Henry Mansfield I can’t stop thinking about, about finding love at the roller rink.

Thanks for sticking around, and I hope you take good care.
