Mend and Bend Newsletter - January 2026

Hello, friend! Thanks for taking a quick gander at my [somewhat inconsistent] newsletter!
Mending News
DENVER MENDING CLUB is my happy place. Leah and I are hosting the group at The Craft Box in Wheat Ridge - that’s just a hair west of the Highlands. Come to our next meeting on Thursday, January 15th! We gather at 6:00pm and stay until 8:30pm, so stop by when you can. Bring a clothing item that needs mending or a patch you've been meaning to sew, and craft alongside other friendly folks! We ask for a $5 entry fee to help pay for rental cost, advertising, and supplies. We advise you to BYO supplies, but we’ll have some mending basics available to use. With this dedicated space, I’ll be bringing my sewing machine to share!
Please take note: mending nights used to be on Wednesdays. We’ve changed them for the new year: the third Thursday of the month, 6-8:30pm at The Craft Box.

You have 3 classes throughout the week to choose from. Check out my schedule below. Please note: I’m teaching a 4-class series on Sundays in February specifically for beginners.

For Evolition Classes, register through Tiffany’s website.
For Living Yoga Classes, register through Living Yoga's website.
For Samamkaya Yoga Classes, register through Samamkaya Yoga's website. I currently don’t have a weekly class but am subbing here and there.
You can always see my upcoming classes here. In addition to my public group classes, I offer private yoga sessions where we can work together one-on-one. If you or someone you know is interested, please contact me.
Other News & Musings
My friend, Leah (yes, who co-hosts Mending Club with me!) has some really rad dye workshops coming up. Last year I got to learn how to screen print with plant & mineral dyes with her, and it BLEW MY MIND. First off, it’s like Screen Printing 101, but then the dye is made from iron tannins, and I got to x-acto my own design. It felt, witchy, intentional, informative, and fun. This class was hella cool and I want everyone to learn from Leah. Her next one is on January 23rd: Workshops at Fleur Denver.
An intentional 2026: Rituals. I want my 2026 to be more intentional and filled with little rituals here and there. Nina, here, lays out a convincing argument for incorporating rituals into your daily life, rather than relying on will-power, resolutions, and goals:

Her video reminds me of an Annie Dillard quote, "How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives." What are some rituals you do? Do you do them alone? With community? What did you start? I’m serious - I wanna know! Just reply to this email.
Winter Solstice: I finally made it out to Red Rocks in the wee hours of the Winter Solstice in December. I’m so happy we made the time and effort - it was glorious to welcome more sun-filled days amongst drum-beating hippies of all ages.

Reading/Doing: Fermentation Kitchen by Sam Cooper. This summer I co-hosted a little fermentation gathering, and this one one of my favorite resources. I borrowed a handful of library books about fermentation, and this is the first one I bought so I could reference it all the time. If you need a SCOBY, let me know!

Reading: Mark and I try to make it a habit to read to each other, especially those times of year when we go on road trips. In December we finished reading Project Hail Mary to each other in anticipation of the movie set to come out in March. We loved it, and can’t wait to see how they decided to tell the story on film. “Fist my bump!”
More book stuff: Book swaps! In my last newsletter I told you about a local Denver clothing swap, which was way rad, and so are book swaps! It’s been a few months since I participated in one, and I plan on going to the next one hosted by Denver Book Swap Society on January 18th. If you come, you could get your hands on Project Hail Mary!

Watching: Mark thoughtfully gifted me a DVD player for X-mas so we can shift away from streaming services and instead use our public library more and move toward physical media again (what is this, 1999?!). So, I’ve been on a rewatch binge of The Magicians. It’s everything you wish H*rry P*tter was but without TERFs!
Thanks for sticking around, and I hope you take good care.
