Mend and Bend Newsletter - Autumn 2025

20220119_153555_0000.png

Hello, friend! Thanks for taking a quick gander at my [somewhat inconsistent] newsletter!

First, I have an ask: if you have taken any yoga classes with me, could you take a few minutes to write a short testimonial? Testimonials are so important to those of us who provide a service so that we can help reach more potential clients and students. All you need to do is hit “reply” to this email and type up a few sentences.

Mending News

  • DENVER MENDING CLUB is going strong!

We’ve held our monthly Mending Club at Edgewater Public Market, and we did a summer tour to different neighborhood parks. It’s so great catching up with old mending friends and getting to know new folks; I feel so nourished and grateful after every session! Now we’re hosting the group at The Craft Box in Wheat Ridge. Come to our next meeting on Wednesday, November 12th. We gather at 5:30pm and stay until 8:00, so stop by when you can. Bring a clothing item that needs mending or a patch you've been meaning to sew and craft alongside other friendly folks! We ask for a $5 entry fee to help pay for rental cost, advertising, and supplies. We advise you to BYO supplies, but we’ll have some mending basics available to use.

TAKE NOTE: The next two sessions are the 2nd Wednesdays of the month. In 2026, we are shifting the day: the third Thursday of the month, 6-8:30pm at The Craft Box.

For Living Yoga Classes, register through Living Yoga's website.

For Samamkaya Yoga Classes, register through Samamkaya Yoga's website. I currently don’t have a weekly class but am subbing here and there.

You can always see my upcoming classes here. In addition to my public group classes, I offer private yoga sessions where we can work together one-on-one. If you or someone you know is interested, please contact me.

Other News & Musings

  • Coming up in Denver: Swap Denver and Repair Fair. On November 15th, 2 very cool events are happening, and I’m hoping to attend both!

Swap Denver will be hosted by AND DNVR, AW Exclusives, and The Clothing Cycle at Hot Shot Coffee, 10am-12pm. These pals are fixtures in Denver’s second-hand, hand-made, and recycled clothing community.

The Repair Fair will be at Denver Tool Library, 2-6pm. You can bring in stuff to get fixed to avoid throwing it in the landfill and to give it a second life.

  • Moving my bod: 2025 is the year of CLIMBING! And just this last weekend I climbed outside for the first time. Catch me at Movement, and let’s be belay buddies!

  • Reading: Well Worn by Skye Pennant. Skye from @slowstitchclub taught me how to darn, and her new book is a fantastic reference tool for different mending techniques.

  • Reading: Dungeon Crawler Carl. Yes, I’ve jumped on the nerdy and wonderful bandwagon that is DCC. Have a listen, and get invested in a talking cat! (Team: Donut Holes)

  • Watching: Star Trek Voyager. You may or may not be aware that my guy and I are watching all Star Trek episodes. We’ve made our way through Deep Space Nine, Lower Decks, and now we just finished Voyager. Look at these sexy nerds! What series should we watch next?

Thanks for sticking around, and I hope you are well.

-Sara
