August 2026 Update
August at Lunar Prototypes will focus on practical ways to label, identify, and organize everyday items using customizable text.
This month’s update covers what is coming next, three new additions to the catalog, and improvements intended to make customizations faster and more reliable.
Coming in August
Several customizable text designs are planned for release, including text plates for storage bins and shelves, magnetic labels for reusable storage, and flexible TPU tags for bags, cases, tools, and personal items.
The designs will include options for multi-color printers as well as simple single-extruder color changes. The goal is to make useful labels and tags without requiring CAD software, manual resizing, or editing downloaded model files.
A customizable replacement gasket or grommet for manual hand pumps is also nearing release. It is designed to replace flexible seals that have worn out, cracked, or are no longer available.
New in July
Replacement Pool Brush Handle is a customizable replacement for broken pool brush handles and similar pole-mounted tools. The dimensions can be adjusted for different pole diameters and attachment points when an exact replacement is unavailable.
Pool Sinky is a customizable pool dive toy with flexible TPU leaves and a weighted printed base. It is designed to stand upright underwater, making it easier to spot and retrieve.
FlexStow is a customizable storage box that uses embedded TPU straps as flexible hinges. It can be sized around tools, cables, hardware, accessories, and other items that need a compact fitted container.
Platform Update
The development and deployment workflow behind Lunar Prototypes was simplified in July, making it easier to test and release fixes, security updates, new designs, and site improvements more consistently.
Additional work planned for August will improve how the customizer worker communicates with the API. The goal is faster processing, shorter queue times, and a more reliable customization experience.
