A Book in One Sick Day

Long walks, a papier-mâché costume, and a dress I've decided I'm over.

Delah Coffee in Downtown Oakland

I spent most of this week sick, which meant no gym, but instead of writing off the week entirely I started taking long walks to get some kind of movement in. One of those walks led me to Delah Coffee, where I got a genuinely delicious matcha latte and stood in front of a pastry case that I will absolutely be revisiting once I'm back to full health.

Closet Update - Progress Photo.

I also posted an update on the closet project. Still a work in progress, but it's already a much better use of the space than what I started with.

Butterick 6380

The red dress on the mannequin is an old Gertie pattern from her Butterick years, made up in a fabric I scored at the Alameda vintage faire. It's close. I just need to finish cutting the lining and get it sewn in before it's actually wearable.

Shrug Progress

This week's crochet progress on the shrug got me to three skeins in of the five the pattern calls for. It is, as predicted, quite heavy in the hand, which is a texture I'm not used to working with but am starting to appreciate.

Crochet Inspiration - Fall 2026

I also put together a little collage post on Shuffles for the fashion Substack, just trying things out. I've been getting pulled back into crochet artists on Etsy lately, saving pieces here and there, and I'm thinking of turning some of my favorite finds into a proper roundup post this week.
