Nashville Week 8 / Returning Home
Hello and welcome to life with Hannah.
Hi Friends,
This newsletter comes from my bed in my home in London. I've been home around 4 days now and not a lot feels like it has changed. I wanted to send out a last Nashville themed one of these to cover my last few days there and reflect on the impact my trip had (beyond making me broke lol).
In my last week I managed to fit in 3 writing sessions, and played live twice. I felt like I started to get into the swing of things. I made new friends and cried when I had to say goodbye to old ones. I am amazed by the life I had in just 7.5 weeks and the friendships that held me up. I am so grateful for all of the people that looked after me and spent time with me and called me their friend. I can't wait to see everyone again.
Since being back in England I've been so aware of how grumpy people are here. In Nashville I had so many lovely conversations with people working in coffee shops or supermarkets, and in England I've been kicked by children on the tube and bitched about by french tourists. It is another world.
When leaving Nashville last Thursday I was lucky enough to keep living my life there to the last minute, getting coffee with wonderful friends just minutes before I left for the airport.

On the plane I sat next to Scottish tattoo artist who goes to Nashville for a month a few times a year to tattoo over there. He seemed like he'd like to make it his full time home, as he felt so welcomed and well paid over there. I think that comes through from anyone visiting Nashville. The people are kind and helpful and want to build relationships.
I think I need to romanticise the grind to get through these next few months. To romanticise working that cafe job, getting music out in between and playing as many shows as I can just for fun. London has such a grind culture and a pace that I didn't feel the pressure of as much in Nashville. I have spent a weekend giving myself space to adjust and now I am back to real life (and off to work in Austria on Friday lol).

I hope to keep writing these newsletters at a lesser frequency. It feels nice to reflect.
Talk again soon,
Hannah xx
P.S. I have London shows coming up on the 21st April, 2nd May and 11th May ! Come see me x
