Hello from Nashville Week 7

Hello and welcome to life with Hannah.

Hi Friends,

We're back in Nashville, and 3 English and Irish girlies are here too. We check into our Airbnb and head to Dicey's, where we immediately meet more English people who happen to be in Arlo Parks's band. They very kindly add us to the guestlist for Tuesday night.

On Tuesday, I took the girlies round East Nashville, with a crunch wrap in BE Hive (one of my favourite vegan places). In the evening we had a strange night of The Grand Old Opry, where a very nice man drove us from our car to the door in a golf buggy, before running to Arlo Parks on the other side of town. We made it safely, and danced freely in what was a very unmoving crowd. I stayed sober as the DD whilst the girls drank white claws until the cows came home.

Wednesday night we went to see my friend Josh's show at the Underdog, followed by a trip to Dino's, a late night Dive bar dinner spot.

Friday, Dora and I got our Nashville matching tattoos. I don't think I ever thought I would get a tattoo, let alone a matching one, but it feels right. Our tattoo artist was so nice and chill it was a lovely morning. In the evening we hit Broadway, with my Nashville friends, joining the two countries together. Somehow we ended our night watching a reality TV star do a terrible remixes set with his top off and his hands full of light up bottles of Dom Perignon. Not very Nashville, but quite fun.

The girls left on Saturday, off to their new adventures in Washington DC and beyond. They are sorely missed.

Sunday I played a lovely writers round. I feel like playing shows here can be so nerve wracking being so compared to the two artists sat next to you also playing songs, especially when, like yesterday evening they were talented belters, but I think once you realise you're playing different things it gets a lot easier.

I'm heading into my last few days now, and feeling bittersweet. I'm so sad to be leaving but looking forward to seeing friends and family and my dogs.

See u soon England !

Love,

Hannah x
