Hello from Austin Week 6
Hello and welcome to life with Hannah.
Hi friends,
You might notice the change in subject line on this one, as I have made my way over to Austin, Texas.
I arrived on Monday, and within an hour and a half a man had poured tequila into my mouth out of the bottle and I'd spent more money than I should have on a beautiful pair of cowboy boots. No regrets. This of course was a result of meeting up with the girlies (my favourite enablers Dora, Phoebe and Adrienne).
That night we made our way to the British Music Embassy Stage at South By South West to see some friends play, so it was nice to have so many english friends around me. It felt quite homely after 5 weeks of America.

On Tuesday we hit the rodeo. Perhaps not the first pick for a group of vegans, but a cultural experience for sure. We hopped in a Lyft to get there, and after a few wrong turns, we ended up on the site itself, nowhere near the ticket gates, and stood in front of the Vice President of the rodeo. He was nice about us trespassing and the VIP drop off was welcomed with our new cowboy boots crushing our feet.
After the rodeo and the country concert, we made our way to the dance floor, the girls looking for a nice cowboy to throw them around, but it was not to be, and we spent our evening dancing with each other. A delight.

I spent the next few days mostly calmly at a pet sit in North Austin, looking after two dogs and two cats (probably not the most relaxing sit!), but lovely pets none the less.

I hung out with my friends at some SXSW shows, mostly, ironically, at the British Music Embassy stage - full of brits!
On Sunday I was kindly invited to a family friends mums house for dinner. With views over the river, it was a delight. Once again I am so grateful for the generosity that people show me when I am away from home.
I have just come home and now I am packed and ready to return to Nashville tomorrow !!
Here's a veeeeeery rough song from the week:
Funny Where You Find a Heart Demo
Lots of love,
Hannah
