Good Works Columbus: May 18th, 2026

Hi friends, welcome to Good Works Columbus, glad to have you here!

Things you can do in person

  • Ride of Silence
    Wednesday, May 20th 6pm

With this annual ride—a short, slow and silent processional —hundreds of Central Ohio cyclists join an international movement to honor cyclists killed or injured while riding on public roadways and raise awareness that cyclists have a legal right to the road. The ride is a short, slow and silent funeral-style processional that attracts hundreds of cyclists from all corners of our community.

Helmets are required! Please make sure to look it over a few days prior to the ride to ensure it's in good working order.

Riders will begin gathering at 6:00 pm. There will be a short program at 6:30 pm. The ride will roll at 7:00 p.m. It's a 10 mile route that should take about 1 hour to complete.

There is no cost to participate, but we do ask you to register for safety and planning purposes.

  • Transit Columbus Arts Fest Volunteer Opportunity
    Mandatory Training 5/23 or 5/28
Volunteer Dates on 6/12 or 6/14

We'll be at Columbus Arts Fest raising money for Transit Columbus. Come volunteer with us and raise $50 per shift you take on so we can build more benches, advocate for better transit, and partner with more organizations that enhance the quality of life for EVERYONE in the COTA service area. This is a great way to support the organization if you have time but no money for a direct donation.

You'll be serving drinks to people 21+ at Columbus Arts Fest and will be interacting with patrons throughout your shift.

To join us, you have to register for a one hour training happening on Saturday, May 23rd at 10:30 am, or on Thursday, May 28th at 6:30 pm, sign up here: https://doodle.com/group-poll/participate/b8zAvnme for the trainings at GCAC, 182 East Long Street. You have to be over 21 to participate in this event. Simply Living will pay for bus fare to and from the event and training.

See slots to volunteer here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E4AAFAD2FA4F4C07-64077127-transit#/  Volunteer dates for Columbus Arts Fest is on June 12th and 14th.
