august + september 2026

Finally fall, autumn, etc here - favorite time of year even if we usually only get a few weeks of it. Been busy with shows mostly…

art ✎

a risograph print: in the top half, trees in red-gold foliage. in the bottom panels: 3 metal folding chairs scattered in an empty room; an inset of scalloped shape as if the center is being eaten away; a mortar and pestle.

25 / 26-8 / major rot (3/6)

On waking, the dream hangs uneasily on me. August's riso print, in 3 colors (light lime, copper, medium blue).

a risograph print: in the main panel, an overgrown stone well amid stylized yellow-green landscape, mirrored by a black oval in the opposite corner. in smaller top panels: a gradient moving from black, a brief flash of red, then sky blue; a red cord in endless tangle.

26 / 26-09 / surplus

Dirt beneath the nails of hands like yours. September's riso print, in 4 colors (bright olive green, aqua, bright red, black). More info + subscribe to monthly prints @ patreon.com/formyths.

willows hang like curtains over a once-grand white hall, now sinking into still dark water, grasses growing by its edges. below, a white egret-like bird, 2 heads alert and a 3rd missing from a bleeding neck, perches on twisting orange growths arching from the water.

"and in the end you shall outlive them"

Was debating whether I should reprint this older piece and ended up doing a (small) 2nd edition run with a slightly different colorway closer to the original illustration.

Comparison of the 1st version for fun - original was done via scanning in b&w laserprinted stencils of the separations on a single drum RZ220ui, and also when I had a lot less experience with riso. I think I do kind of like some of the effect you get from this but also had to fight so much detail / tone variation loss (+ reduced editing ability..) that came from having to run my work through a questionable quality office laser printer first..

risograph print of Nikaido from Dorohedoro, emerging from the hollowed half of a muscled, masked devil form. Tubes or guts rise tangling to the left, eight lizard heads growing in an arc above. A door hangs in the air, surrounded by drawings of gyoza, a chef knife, coins, a devil tumor, a clock. In the background, an oval of a void; a red horizon fading through green into darkness.

gut

Finally got around to reading Dorohedoro… unsurprisingly loved the way devils worked… Another rare fanart print from me, debuted at ANYC. They’ll be available online whenever I reopen my store (soon-ish).

8×10 in + 11×14 in, 4 color risograph print (lime, aqua, bright red, brown)

other news etc ✷

Last (?) big show for the year is:

  • New York Comic Con (NY) - Oct 8-11 @ table C36

Reminder: I curate stock depending on specific shows / space so if you’re not sure I’ll have something at a particular event I’m happy to figure out pickup orders, just email me.

Was supposed to be at a market run by Land to Sea @ Abrons Art Center but had to drop out since it was rescheduled to NYCC weekend - hope to be at some other NYC holiday markets though. Also trying to get my online store open again end of Oct/ early Nov.

Re-energized being around friends + peers at SPX… also seeing what people are doing at NYABF… I think my experiment of doing a range of shows/events this year has underscored that while there’s obviously really skilled people at any event, small press indie comics etc is what truly has my heart. Have some projects cooking but we’ll see if anything comes of them…
