No show tonight, however...

Smallest of A'dam - Beginners course - Big Soundpainting shows

Hey there,

Officially, I have the week off.

But the reality is that—instead of our regular Flock events—I am for 8 days straight in beautiful theatre Zonnehuis for the festival IMPRO Amsterdam.

Maybe not everyone’s idea of taking a breather. 🤣

I am there enjoying watching shows, performing with international artists, teaching workshops, and making silly backstage videos in neoclassical costume.

Because apparently, my idea of a week off is… More improv.

In this newsletter, I share with you what fun stuff is happening when Flock comes back from a break. 👇

Shows start again next Thursday

Tonight, there will be no show. But next week, the shows in the smallest theatre of Amsterdam are starting again!

Come for a lovely evening with a show, a drink, and good people in our speakeasy venue.

  • Thu 5 March 🌍 Many Worlds

Sit back. Relax. And let the Flock Company Players take you to different places, through different genres, meeting a variety of characters in this one-of-a-kind theatre show.

  • Thu 12 March 💭 Laura & Gael Special

The Flock co-founders play a new duo show. Good stuff, we promise.

“Laura and Gael are exceptional improvisers. They exude a tranquility on stage, a true openness to what presents itself in the moment.”
Maïder Dechamps — Journalist and theatre maker (Brussels – Belgium)

  • Sat 14 March For One Night Only

Spanish artist Diego Ingold is visiting and joins us for a special show on the weekend. Diego is a truly captivating performer: expect bold physicality and a mischievous charm.

Get your tickets via the website. We look forward to seeing you in our audience!

Try improv for 6 weeks

  • Sunday 19:00 - Improvisation for Beginners with Mash & Ollie

Would you like to give improv a try? Are you up for a weekly moment of getting out of your head, learning new skills, and making theatre?

In this 6 weeks course for beginners, you will learn some of the basic principles of improvisational theatre: spontaneity, a ‘yes and’ attitude, and inspiring your partner. (To name just a few.)

Improv classes are also great for improving your confidence and presence on stage—and many students build lasting friendships with the lovely people in class.

You don’t need to be funny, fast-thinking, or physically flexible. Just show up and join a kind, playful group of humans.

And yes, you can do a trial lesson. Got questions? Just hit reply! Or sign up here.

For the first time, Soundpainting comes to Amsterdam with 3 exclusive performances!

Experience an explosive evening of theatre, music, and visual arts that takes you on a beautiful journey. Stories are created live. Music carries you into dreamscapes. Gorgeous visuals invite you to explore your own humanity.

Three nights, three flavors:

• Friday – Experience a story created live, unfolding in front of you. Musicians, dancers, actors, visual and circus artists create one full story together in Soundpainting: Echoes.

• Saturday – Experience a full evening of Soundpainting in its classic form, inviting you to dream and wander through ever-changing worlds and unexpected stories.

• Sunday – Enjoy a family-friendly variation of Soundpainting: more language-free, full of adventurous tales, with beautiful live music accompanying the performance.
Friendly-price tickets available for children, seniors, and low income visitors.

Choose your night! Or experience all three and discover the full Soundpainting adventure with us.
