SUNDAY: Bitter Fruit athe the Blue Room! And FLORID Returns for the summer!
BLUE ROOM HOSTS BITTER FRUIT
Sunday, June 7th, 2026– come join us at Stookey's Blue Room for the long-awaited release of “Songs from The Bitter Fruit: Live at the Ashby!” This recording of six original songs from the upcoming musical “THE BITTER FRUIT," will be available for the first time to patrons of our special sneak peek performance, "Bitter Fruit: The Second Sanguine Slice!” One night only at Stookey's Blue Room, Bush at Taylor in San Francisco.

This celebration will feature the premiere of this recording, featuring the work of songwriting team, Josh Pollock and Sean Owens, as well as new songs never before performed in public! This extraordinary musical is still in development, and while it is in the process of finding its developmental home, Josh and Sean are looking to spark interest, excitement, and feedback for this one-of-a-kind musical.

Yes, it's a fundraiser– until this show gets adopted by some lucky producer who senses its killer potential, Josh and Sean are footing the bills for its development. That being said, there are a limited number of 50% off tickets for this event with discount code: QUARRY. If you see and hear the promise of this deliciously dark musical comedy, we encourage you to support THE BITTER FRUIT, while enjoying cocktails and original music in the nostalgic atmosphere of Stookey's!
FLORID BLOOMS AGAIN!
As the sun returns, so does another season of FLORID– San Francisco's most delicate and debonair drag offering, to be found only in the secret garden behind Chartreuse by RoJe, at 2095 Market Street at Church. Running monthly from June to October 2026, FLORID offers not only some of the finest drag artists working in the Bay Area, but also premium taste offerings and world premiere literature! One afternoon only– Sunday, June 14th, 3-7pm!

Our June offering is a nod to the upcoming Pride season: PANSIES ON PARADE! Featuring Chester Vanderbox, Fullout Fritzie, and Carlota diCarlo, FLORID promises pageantry and pomp as only consummate queens can deliver! Bask in the fresh air for an afternoon of festive frivolity with FLORID!
This year, Chartreuse is partnering with neighborhood mainstay The Pilsner Inn, to supply full bar service to its patrons. This allows FLORID to move from its previous all-inclusive ticket to a more accessible admission of $35, with performer tips and bar sales managed via cash or Venmo.
Join us for the first of this five performance series, and spend your San Francisco summer sipping in the sunlight, with FLORID!
This month’s premier author is Olga Zilbergourg:

Olga Zilberbourg’s English-language debut LIKE WATER AND OTHER STORIES (WTAW Press) explores multicultural identity, bisexuality, and immigrant parenthood. Born in Leningrad, USSR, in a Russian-speaking Jewish family, she has published four books of fiction in Russian. She lives in California where she co-facilitates the San Francisco Writers Workshop and co-edits Punctured Lines, a feminist blog about underrepresented literatures from the former USSR.
